From classroom to
film festival

A short film, inspired by my fascination with the impact humans have on nature. From an early age, I’ve thought about how we shape our environment. Sometimes beautifully, sometimes destructively. The film begins with the serenity of nature. Its sounds, scents, and sights, but shifts toward disorder, reflecting the fragility of this balance.

The idea came from a school assignment about landscapes. I first thought of a bench in the field behind my house but soon realized it was the surrounding environment, raw and vibrant, that made the place special. With BURN, I hope to inspire reflection on our connection to nature and our role in preserving it.

I’m proud that BURN was selected to participate in the Short Film Festival WOOF in Heerlen, where it was screened at the Royal Cinema. Sharing it on the big screen was an incredible experience that deepened my connection to the story.
